What are wax melts?

Wax melts are pieces of scented wax that release fragrance when warmed in a suitable burner. The wax itself has no wick. An electric warmer uses electricity to heat the dish, while a tealight burner uses a candle flame underneath it.

How to use wax melts, step by step

1. Choose a suitable burner. Use a burner designed for wax melts and follow its manufacturer’s instructions. Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, children and pets.
2. Add the recommended amount of wax. Follow the wax and burner instructions. Don’t overfill the dish or add water.
3. Warm the wax. Switch on your electric warmer, or use the type and size of tealight specified for your tealight burner. Follow the recommended operating time and never leave either type unattended while in use.
4. Let everything cool after use. Switch off the warmer or extinguish the tealight as instructed. Allow the wax and burner to cool before touching, moving or cleaning them.

How long does a wax melt’s fragrance last?

Fragrance duration varies with the scent, the burner and the conditions in your room. Rather than promising a fixed number of hours, we recommend following your product’s guidance and replacing the wax when it no longer gives the fragrance you enjoy.
